PMMAL Draft
Each team drafts 14 fighters, four in each of three weight category, two in heavyweight category.- Team gets to protect four fighters who live in team exclusive territory in first four rounds of draft.
- Fifth round of draft and above is an open draft.
- Lottery held in first year with teams drawing for draft positions.1-8 than 2-1, 3-2, 4-3, etc.
- No fighter from another team territory can be drafted by another team until the 5th round.
- To be eligible for 2010 fighter can have no more than eight pro MMA fights.
- Teams need to sign fighters to PMMAL contract to lock in fighter.
- Fighters must live in California or Nevada to be eligible to be drafted.
- Fighters must have competed professionally in 2008 and/or 2009 to be eligible to be drafted.
- Fighters agree if drafted and signed by a team to get 2010 California and Nevada required medicals, with teams contributing $200 toward these costs.
- Fighters that are drafted agree that they only can compete for PMMAL team that drafted them, unless they are released or claimed on waivers by another PMMAL team.
PMMAL Fighters Compensation for regular season
- Guaranteed purse of $1,000 per fighter per fight.
- Winning team (team that wins four of seven matches) splits winning bonus of $3,500.
- Quickest Knockout of Night fighter gets $250 bonus.
- Quickest Submission of Night fighter gets $250 bonus.
- Any knockout win fighter gets $100 bonus.
